Document Description
Metro is proposing the Los Angeles Union Station Closed-Circuit Television System Upgrades Project. The Project would replace the existing non-functional and/or
end-of-life cameras and infrastructure within two rail yard areas located at Los Angeles Union Station. The Project will replace all cameras, conduit, battery backup
systems and conned these cameras to the existing Genetec VMS with new licenses. Cameras are physically located on the passenger platforms within the main rail
yard area, located east of the historic Union Station building and primarily utilized by Metrolink and Amtrak agencies, as well as cameras located within the exclusive
Amtrak Garden Tracks yard, northwest of the main rail yard.

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEOA), this project is Categorically Exempt from CEQA review pursuant
to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities), Class 1. Section 15301, Class 1 consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical
features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The proposal for the Los Angeles Union Station Closed-Circuit Television System Upgrades Project meets the requirements of this exemption; therefore, no further CEQA review is required.
