Document Description
Metro is proposing the Los Angeles Union Station North Patio Fence Project Toe Project would entail installing a fence within the North Patio area of I.AUS. The fence will span the distance between the original north wan enclosing the patio and the exterior of the Station. The fence will be located directly west of the path of travel that provides access from the Amtrak Bus Plaza to the Station's Passenger Concourse, and it will be installed just east of a historic planter containing a row of din.ls trees. Gates will be located at either end of the fence-a single 3'-wide gate at the north end and a pair of 3'-wide gates at the south end. The fence wll.1 require new footings below each column and grade beams below the gates and at a portion of the fence near an existing grease interceptor. The fence will be 8' tall and constructed of steel.

In accordance with the· California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this project is Categorically Exempt from CEQA review pursuant to Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures), Class 3. Section 15303, Class 3 consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new. small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities In small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures form one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The proposal for the Los Angeles Union Station North Patio Fence Project meets the requirements of this exemption; therefore, no further CEQA review is required.
