Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 1; California Code of Regulations, Section 15301, Existing Facilities
Reasons for Exemption
Replacement of existing damaged culverts is needed because they are currently non-functional, rendering the roadway impassable and contributing to further erosion of the roadway. The three new culverts will allow the passage of stormwater to meet the current Butte County standards, the installation of rip rap will protect Henson Road from future erosion, and repairs to Henson Road will render it once again passable. The project would be constructed in approximately the same location as the existing culverts within the Right of Way owned and maintained by PID. The project area does not present unusual circumstances such that there is a likelihood that the project would result in significant impacts on the environment.
