PG&E proposes work at two locations in Kern County on State Routes 99 and 166 near the community of Mettler. Work includes excavating a 25’x25’x16’ bore pit to dig two 18-inch bores and install four new 6-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) conduits in each, eight total, with new underground 25kV primary cables inside at (Loc 1/KER-99-5.037) outside Caltrans ROW. The bores, conduits, and cables extend to two bore pits outside ROW. At (Loc 2/KER-166-24.12), work includes excavating a 206’x1’6”x5’ trench, two 8’x12’x7’ bore pits, and two 8’x12’x20’ bore pits to install two 18-inch bores and eight 6-inch HDPE conduits within the Caltrans ROW. The bores and conduits extend to two more 8’x12’x7’ bore pits that will be excavated outside Caltrans ROW. Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit for the work within State right-of-way.

The existing utility will be extended to provide service to nearby infrastructure
