Document Description
When Pump Station 5-2 (PS5-2) was originally constructed, space was designated for an emergency generator; however, a permanent unit was never installed. While the District currently relies on portable generators for emergency power, the demand for backup power across multiple facilities exceeds the available supply of portable units. Given the critical role of PS5-2 in emergency water distribution, a permanent 500-kW emergency standby generator is essential to ensure uninterrupted operations. This project involves procuring and installing a new 500-kW emergency standby generator to enhance the reliability and resilience of PS5-2. The primary benefit of this installation is to provide a dedicated power source, ensuring continuous operation and the reliable delivery of critical water supplies during an emergency power outage.
