Document Description
The proposed Project involves the demolition and replacement of the existing structurally deficient single-lane Guynn Bridge. The new structure will accommodate two 11-foot travel lanes, five-foot shoulders, and a six-foot sidewalk on the east side. The new bridge is anticipated to be a single-span, precast, prestressed concrete box beam approximately 90 feet long. Construction of the bridge will involve excavation for, and construction of, concrete abutments on deep foundations. Temporary work within Lindo Channel includes installation of scour countermeasures at the support locations. Lindo Channel is typically dry during the construction season. However, if water is present, the use of a diversion system to ensure completion of all in-channel activities within the established work window may be necessary. Construction of the roadway approaches will involve the removal of existing pavement and placement of aggregate base and hot mix asphalt pavement. New curb, gutter, and sidewalk will be constructed on the approach roadways.
