Document Description
At La Purisima Mission State Historic Park, the Department of State Parks is conducting routine fuel management maintenance to comply with defensible space of structures fire safety mandates (Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 14, § 1299.03). Prior to and during work, monitoring needs will be determined by the district’s Cultural and Natural Resource Specialists to minimize the potential for ground disturbance and minimize impacts to sensitive resources and/or habitat. Work crews will be limited to the use of hand tools for all vegetation clearing and tree felling. Tree stumps will be cut as near to the ground as possible without creating ground disturbance. No ground disturbance is expected from project activities.
