Document Description
The project is for construction of a new water well (Well No. 22B) located at 3310 Candlewood Street. The site is zoned O-S (Open Space). Public utilities, including water wells and related infrastructure, are permitted in the O-S zone. Well No. 22B will replace Well No. 22A which initially had a design capacity of 3,000 gallons per minute (GPM) but is at the end of its productive life. In 2012 Well No. 22A had a diminished pumping capacity of 800 GPM. Well No. 22B will have a capacity of 2,000 GPM which will not result in an expansion of the original production capacity at this site. Section 15302.(c) of the CEQA Guidelines includes the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity. Other public agencies whose approval for this project may be required include the California State Water Resources Control Board (CSWRCB) Division of Drinking Water (DDW) and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
