Document Description
The Project involves the replacement of the theater located adjacent to on the existing campus of Foothill High School (“High School”) in the City of Pleasanton. Specifically, the Project consists of the reconfiguration of the existing competition gym to expand the usable floor area and add on new concession facilities, new restrooms, and lobby spaces, the relocation of the existing practice gym and build new practice gym, the reconfiguration of the existing building for locker rooms, weight rooms, and wrestling rooms, the construction of a new physical education classroom and fitness lab, the construction of a new theater building with associated support spaces including a black box theater/drama classroom in the existing practice gym location, and the installation of new art and music classrooms with associated practice and support spaces. The Project does not contemplate any new uses of the High School. This Project will provide enhanced safety conditions for users of the campus and will generally benefit District students and the local community. The total work area will be approximately 56,500 square feet. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2026. The campus will have substantially the same purpose and capacity upon the completion of the Project.

Class 3 (Sec. 15303): The proposed Project consists of construction of new small structures or conversion of existing structures from one use to another; Class 14 (Sec. 15314): The proposed Project would be located within the existing campus, a developed property within Pleasanton located in Alameda County and will not increase original student capacity by more than 10 classrooms or 25 percent. Common Sense Exemption: It can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the proposed project involves any activity that may have a significant effect on the environment.
