Document Description
Replacement of approximately 3,650 linear feet of steel pipes, ranging in size from 14.4 to 36 inches. The pipes are located within two galleries beneath sedimentation basin one of the All-American Canal Basin Sludge System, and is limited to the space within the existing tunnels. Improvements are necessary due to the deterioration caused by normal use and wear of the pipes and sediment accumulation, and involve no negligible or no expansion of the use.

IID has reviewed the project and determined that the project is exempt from further environmental analysis as a categorical exemption under CECA, California Public Resources Code Section 21000 et seq, and specifically under section 15301 and 15302 of the State CEOA Guidelines, Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations, Chapter 3. Section 15301 (Class 1) and 15302 (Class 2) categorical exemption for replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, including but not limited to the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion capacity.
