Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed and issued Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-RIV-46769-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the City of Riverside. The purpose of this Project is to routinely dredge approximately 26,000 cubic yards of sludge and sediment from the bottom of Fairmount Lake. Best Management Practices (BMPs) include work area boundary delineation, preactivity sweep, erosion and runoff control, cleanup activities, disposal guidelines, and decontamination requirements.

Reasons for Exemption
ln accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, this Project is Categorically Exempt from CEQA review pursuant to Section 15304, as a minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry and agricultural purposes and maintenance dredging where the spoil is deposited in a spoil area authorized by all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies. The proposed Project meets the requirements of these exemptions; therefore, no further CEQA review is required.
