Document Description
To remove and replace the existing 37-span, 556-foot long, timber stringer trestle ballast deck bridge with a new 19-span, 570-foot long, pre-stressed concrete box girder bridge. The bridge will include twenty new bridge bents. Each bent consists of three 20-inch diameter, 0.5 inch thick steel pipe piles auger cast/cast-in-drilled-hole to the bottom of the impervious layer approximately 60 feet deep. The proposed project also includes a 5-inch track raise.

The project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction (CEQA California Code of Regulations, Title 14, 15302), because the activity consists of replacement and reconstruction of an existing structure in the same location and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the replaced structure. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15300.2.
