Document Description
The atmospheric rainstorm of February 13-14, 2025, coupled with unstable soil conditions within the Line Fire burn-scar watershed, resulted in significant deposition of burned material and sediment, leading to mud and debris flows within the Highland community adjacent to Elder Creek channel. Elder Creek was unable to accommodate the volume of mud and debris originating from the burn-scar area, leading to mandatory evacuations and roadway closures. Emergency stockpiling using heavy equipment is necessary to remove the mud and debris and restore road access and channel capacity.
