Document Description
The County’s Board action allocated funding to the proposed Project which is the basis for this Notice of Exemption. The proposed Project is comprised of two buildings that together will provide affordable space for arts and entertainment professionals to live, work, and create in the heart of Hollywood; open new opportunities in creative careers for underserved youth in the neighborhood; and host the new Western Region Headquarters for the Entertainment Community Fund. The Project will facilitate the new construction of a residential building as well as the demolition and build back of existing structures to support various rehearsal, performance, and creative spaces.

Reasons for Exemption
The work is within certain classes of projects that have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment because it includes minor alterations to an existing facility and the renovation and demolition with negligible expansion of use. In addition, based on the records of the proposed City permitted project, it will comply with all applicable regulations, and there are no cumulative impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5, or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource that would make the exemption inapplicable.
