The current proposed alignment segment includes one fiber optic cable connection. The segment spans approximately 3.10 miles within the City of San Jose and City of Milpitas. Most of the alignment is located within the paved roadway, but the connection occasionally traverses ruderal or landscaped areas in roadway shoulders or medians. The eastern end of the alignment is at a pre-existing manhole located 0.04 miles west of the intersection of Trade Zone Boulevard and Journey Street. The alignment travels west along Trade Zone Boulevard for 0.23 miles, then travels west along Montague Expressway for 0.16 miles, crossing underneath Lower Penitencia Creek and the railroad tracks before continuing along Montague Expressway for approximately 0.25 miles. The alignment then travels north on Pinewood Court for 0.08 miles, west on
Fallen Leaf Drive for 0.05 miles, and northwest on Starlite Drive for 0.29 miles before turning west on Gibbons Court for 0.09 miles, crossing under Interstate 880. The alignment travels north along Barber Lane for approximately 0.41 miles, west along Alder Drive for 0.25 Miles, and west along Tasman Drive for 0.41 miles, crossing underneath Coyote Creek and continuing along Tasman Drive for 0.77 miles before ending by tying to the pre-existing Tasman Build.
