The proposed property acquisition is exempt from CECA analysis in accordance with Senate Bill 91, which was adopted on October 10. 2023, and amends Public Resources Code Section 21152 pertaining lo conversion of motels for supportive or transitional housing. Senate B~I 91 exempts projects Involving the conversion of hotels lnto supportive or transitional housing from the California Environmental Quality Act requirements so long as specific requirements are met: (A) It does not result in the expansion of more than 10 percent of the floor area of any individual living unit In the structure. and (B) It does not result In any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality. The purchase of the Westwood Motel will not result in expanding The footprint of the existing buildings, nor will it result in any significant changes related to traffic, noise. air quality or water quality.
