Document Description
To develop a Planning Document for a project that addresses the requirements of The State of California Division of Drinking Water to add treatment to address manganese concentrations that are exceeding the secondary MCL’s. As part of the treatment for manganese, excess iron concentrations must also be addressed. Additionally, treatment for PFAS and related compounds must be included as these have been detected in the raw water from some wells. Mitigation for DBP’s must be considered in the overall project design. Mitigation to control degradation of the WWD’s existing asbestos cement water mains must also be considered in the design. Mitigation to reduce the amount of liquid waste that might need to be disposed of must be considered. Finally, the treatment plant design will include chlorinated water being delivered to the WWD customers. Beneficiaries of the project will be the 74 residents served by the Wynola Water District.
