Document Description
Pacific Power is proposing maintenance activities on their existing overhead distribution lines within the California Department of Transportation’s (Caltrans) right-of-way along Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County at post mile R15.1R in the city of Mt. Shasta. The maintenance activities are the outcome of Pacific Power's continued fire mitigation program of system hardening in California and is being conducted in accordance with the California Public Utilities Commission guidelines. The proposed maintenance activities would consist of the removal of one existing wood pole, removal of two existing anchors and guy wires, replacement of one existing anchor and guy wires and installation of four new anchors and guy wires, as well as the transfer of the existing overhead transmission line with a spacer cable system (i.e., wires), and updating system protection and other equipment as needed. Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit (0225-6UF-0052) to allow the proposed improvements to occur within the right-of-way of Interstate 5.
