Document Description
Caltrans proposes a District Director’s Order (DDO) emergency contract to remove and install approximately 350-feet of damaged metal beam guardrail (MBGR) along eastbound I-8 northwest of Buckman Springs at PM 47.5 in eastern San Diego County. The project also includes placement of construction area signs, and Traffic Control System to repair the damaged MBGR to current standards as requested by Traffic Safety and Operations. The construction and traffic control efforts required to bring the MBGR to current standards is beyond Caltrans’ Maintenance force's capacity. This work must be completed as rapidly as possible to prevent long term closure or disruption of this essential route and to maintain full access for residents, emergency services, and commercial traffic.
