Document Description
To collect soil information for use in support of the Camp Pollack River Observation Deck and Improved River Access Project. The exploration activities consist of using a track-mounted rig to advance two (2) Cone Penetration Tests (CPT) and five (5) hand augers. The hand augers will be 3-inch diameter, 5-foot-deep, and will be backfilled with native soil or sand. The CPTs will be advanced to 50 feet below existing ground, or to refusal, collecting measurements from sensors at specific intervals, and backfilling the void with grout to top of hole the same day of testing. Soil samples will be collected using hand-driven sampler tubes and by collecting cuttings. Existing access roads in the overflow area will be used for access to the site. Construction activities will require clearing and grubbing of existing vegetation in the work area and involve ground disturbance by a truck mounted drill rig and backfill within the floodway.
