Document Description
The purpose of this project is to install a combination of a drain lens and a causeway in specific areas of the Jammin' Trail tread path within Harrison Restoration Management Area at Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area to allow for stormwater conveyance along the natural drainage while simultaneously repairing and stabilizing the established trailway. This work will elevate the trail's tread path, prevent seasonal rilling, ponding, unintentional trail widening, protect sensitive plants as well as decrease erosion and soil loss. Work will: Use heavy equipment to fill eleven (11) entrenchment areas with stockpiled fill material sourced from sediment basins to approximately 60-inches in width within the trail corridor for the length of each treadpath; Within the trail corridor, stack two (2) 18-24-inch parallel rock walls no more than 50-inches apart for the length of each treadpath; Infill the trail corridor with no more than 12-inches of angular 6-inch chip rock for the length of the treadpath; and Layer the chip rock with no more than 6-inches of native soil and compact with a vibraplate and mini-excavator.
