Document Description
The purpose of this project is to install approximately 2,000 linear feet of new peeler core fencing over approximately 5 acres of Bethany Reservoir SRA to reduce illegal off road driving and protect new native plantings and pollinator garden. Work will: Use hand tools and hand pulling to remove invasive vegetation, including eucalyptus trees, along the fishing pier access road, to prepare the areas where the new fencing and native plants will be installed; Use a skid-steer to reestablish grade of hillside and secure with straw wattles and hydroseed if necessary to prevent erosion; Use a gas-powered auger to excavate a 10-in. wide by 3-ft deep post hole every 8-feet for a 2,000-ft alignment, including pedestrian access breaks; Install one (1) peeler core post into each hole and backfill with excavated soils to secure; Use heavy equipment to establish an approx. 500-ft long, decomposed granite, ADA walking path encircling new native pollinator plants; and Spread all resultant excess excavated material on site.
