Document Description
The project will remove non-native invasive trees, such as Eucalyptus, which are fire hazards due to their oily leaves and production of seedlings. Activities will also include brushing and thinning at the base of mature Coast Live Oaks (Quercus agrifolia) to protect these mature native trees from hazardous fuel loading around their tree trunks. The purpose of the project is to reduce hazardous wildfire fuel loads while also providing S-212 (Wildland Chainsaw) training. Beneficiaries include the landowners, participants, and surrounding community.
