Document Description
In order to retain Local Land use authority, the State requires Sonoma County to develop and maintain a Local Coastal Program to regulate land use and protect coastal resources in compliance with the Coastal Act. On July 17, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Sonoma County’s Local Coastal Plan, the land use plan of the Local Coastal Program. On November 14, 2024, the California Coastal Commission voted unanimously to conditionally certify the Board adopted LCP, subject to modifications recommended by Coastal Commission staff. On February 4, 2025, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Local Coastal Plan as certified by the Coastal Commission.
