Document Description
The Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to authority granted under Business and Procession Code, Section 26012, approved a Retail commercial cannabis license submitted on June 27, 2024, by Element 7 Redwood City LLC. The Project will consist of a retail cannabis dispensary located in a mixed-use zoned plot. The Project will operate within a 1,837 sq. ft. unit within a 4,800 sq. ft. building, on a 14,952 sq. ft. parcel area. The site was previously a liquor store in operation until September 2024 and would require no expansion of an existing use. The applicants will provide some enhancements to electrical wiring, ceiling and flooring replacement, and updates to the restrooms to be ADA compliant. An internal glass wall will be installed to create secured separated lobby area. The site is served by PG&E, CalWater (no amended water rights required), and Silicon Valley Clean Water. The surrounding area is typical of urban commercial use, with several other commercial operations in the vicinity, with a paved, urban landscape.

The activity is covered by the common sense exemption that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. It can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the Project in question may have a significant effect on the environment. It is a retail project in an existing facility, taking the place of a prior similar retail operation.
