The proposed LA General Pavement Repair project will repair and replace damaged and uneven pavement and sidewalk areas at five (5) locations throughout the LA General campus. These locations total approximately 50,000 sq. ft. of pavement that have been identified due to poor conditions and will be scheduled for repair and replacement of asphalt pavement and/or concrete.

Reasons for Exemption
The scope of work consists of the repair and replacement of existing pavement and sidewalks. Therefore, the work is within certain classes of projects that have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment because the project includes repairs and minor alterations to existing public facilities with negligible or no expansion of use, replacement of features with the same purpose and capacity, and minor alterations to land.
In addition, based on the records of the proposed Project, it will comply with all applicable regulations, it is not in a sensitive environment and there are no cumulative impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5, or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historic resource that would make the exemptions inapplicable.
