Document Description
San Joaquin field division plans to set modified “T” bait stations at the San Joaquin O&M center, Lost Hills O&M center, and at several pumping plants and check sites. Bait stations will be filled with ground squirrel bait (Ditrac or Kaput). All product labels and PCA recommendations will be followed. Work would mainly take place from March through November. All applicators will be certified by the Department of Regulations and will regularly check bait stations while in use. Applicators will track efficiency, restock bait traps, search for and remove ground squirrel carcasses, and ensure that all traps are in good working order. All trap entrances will be no greater than 3 inches in diameter and will be at least 12 inches above the ground to comply with environmental recommendations.
This work is necessary to protect water supply infrastructure and facilities.
