Document Description
The project involves the physical consolidation of Carver Tract Mutual Water Company (CTMWC) with Indio Water Authority to address issues such as aging infrastructure, contaminants, coliform violations, unreliability, leaks, and lack of storage. Approximately 7,000 linear feet of pipe, along with gate valves, fire hydrants, and other necessary appurtenances, will be installed. New water service lines and water meters will be installed for each existing customer. Distribution pipes will be located within the road right-of-way and will not conflict with existing utility lines. Upon the dissolution of CTMWC, Indio Water Authority will maintain the infrastructure up to the water meters, while infrastructure beyond the water meters will be owned and maintained by property owners. The new distribution system will connect to the existing Indio Water Authority system at six locations. The CTMWC pressure tank will be removed, and the well will be destroyed. Existing pipelines located in residential yards will be abandoned.
