Document Description
Caltrans proposes drilling out existing piezometers and slope inclinometers (equipment used for geotechnical investigations) at two locations within one project area. Existing instrumentation to be destroyed have been field verified by geotechnical staff. Work will include over-drilling one to two feet beyond the entire depth of the existing borehole using truck mounted drill rigs. Finally, boreholes will be sealed in accordance with California Water Code and Local Enforcing Agency regulations. All work will occur in previously disturbed pull outs. Appropriate BMP’s will be implemented as needed. No permits are required for this work. The work is Categorically Exempt per CEQA class 1 (PCR 21084; 14 CCR 15300 et seq).
