Reasons for Exemption
The proposed Project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) per Section 15302(b). The Class 2 exemption applies to replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, including but not limited to (b) replacement of a similar structure with a new structure of substantially the same size, purpose and capacity. The proposed development will replace an existing 313,611 square foot industrial building with a new 294,000 square foot industrial building located on the same lot and will have the same purpose and capacity as the existing structure.
