Document Description
The project proposes the implementation of a vegetation management plan to address wildfire risk to high-priority water infrastructure sites in the North Tahoe Public Utility District, Tahoe City Public Utility District, and South Tahoe Public Utility District service territories. The project consists of 41 treatment sites, covering 48 treatment sites, located in both Placer and El Dorado Counties. Each individual treatment area would consist of a 100-foot-wide buffer around each structure and a 10-foot-wide buffer along roads within the treatment boundaries. All activities proposed by the project would take place within these 100- and 10-foot boundaries.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would implement and vegetation management plan to address wildfire risk to high-priority water infrastructure sites. All fuel management/treatment activities proposed would occur within 100 feet of structures located in each identified treatment area, or within 10 feet of the roadway. As such, the project is consistent with the Example (i) of the Class 4 Categorical Exemption. None of the exceptions that would prevent the use of categorical exemption per CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2, apply to the project.
