Document Description
The proposed project will consist of the replacement of an existing 60,000-gallon treated water storage tank with a new 100,000 gallon steel treated water storage tank. The new tank will be approximately 35 feet in diameter and 20 feet tall with 4-inch to 7-inch pipelines that will be required to integrate the tank into the onsite water treatment plant piping. Project activity will be located within PCWA's existing parcel and easements. Some earthwork, tree removal and grading will be required to construct a foundation for the tank. Due to the slope of the site, a retaining wall will be constructed on the east side of the new tank. Additionally, minor work at the Monte Vista Water Treatment Plant will include replacement of the raw water pump, pipe and appurtenances. While the storage capacity is increased, this project will not alter the current production capacity of the water treatment plant. The additional storage capacity will provide extended water supply availability during emergencies. The existing redwood tank will be decommissioned once the new steel tank is placed in operation.
