Document Description
Caltrans proposes a safety project to install a high-tension cable barrier (HTCB) guardrail at the shoulder along 0.6 postmiles of southbound I-15. Midwest Guardrail System (MGS) would be added on each end of the HTCB to shield it from vehicle collision. Vegetation control fiber mat would be installed along the length of the HTCB. Work would also include surface-level grading on non-paved areas out to the edge of slope; the removal of an existing asphalt concrete dike and other existing asphalt concrete aprons on the shoulder; the installation of a 1-foot v-ditch overside drain to connect to an existing 18-inch down drain; and the replacement of one and addition of a lighting standard on the shoulder where the onramp connects with the main travel way. All work would occur within Caltrans ROW.
