Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-RIV-53698-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Gas Company. The proposed Project involves the uncovering of a natural gas pipeline (Line 2001), inspecting the pipeline for damage, repairing damaged sections, recoating the pipeline, and reburying the pipeline in the area where the pipeline has been exposed by erosion. The sites will be prepared by removing any minimal desert scrub vegetation from the excavation area. The pipeline will be exposed through the excavation of an approximately fifteen-foot wide and eight-foot-deep trench. The top six inches of excavated topsoil will be separated from the subsoil to preserve the existing seed bank. After inspection and repairs the trench will be backfilled with native soil. The reserved topsoil will then be re-spread over the disturbed area and returned to pre-construction conditions.
