The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will issue an encroachment permit to allow the applicant, Pacific Bell Telephone Company, close the shoulder of southbound Interstate 5 between postmiles 7.555L and 7.676L for traffic control to remove and replace an existing cable along Interstate 5. Traffic control will be required for the shoulder closure. No vegetation removal or soil disturbance is proposed or authorized within the Interstate right-of-way.
