Document Description
Project proposes to replace the existing failing roof on the historic Zanetta Hall in San Juan Bautista State Historic Park to aid in the preservation of the building and allow for its continued use as an historic interpretive element of the park. Work will: • Remove the existing shake roof; • Replace, as needed, missing or deteriorated sheathing; • Install a PVC roofing membrane; • Replace or repair existing roof trims, including fascia, soffits and rake end trim and paint to match; • Repair wood siding at the interior face of the roof parapet walls and paint to match; • Install a new wood shake roof; and • Install new gutters and downspouts.

Project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, and is included as “Reroofing” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and consists of projects limited to maintenance, repair, stabilization, rehabilitation, restoration, preservation, conservation, or reconstruction of historical resources in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings (1995), Weeks and Grimmer.
