Document Description
The project consists of the demolition of an existing 3,000 square-foot worship center built in 1958 and the construction of a new 6,200 square-foot mosque, on the same location as the demolished worship center. Existing parking facilities, accessible parking spaces, and driveways will require minor adjustments to meet Sacramento County requirements.
The project is also requesting the following entitlements:
1. A Use Permit to allow for the redevelopment of a mosque and associated parking lot that will exceed 150 persons capacity in the Residential-5 (RD-5) zoning district.
2. A Design Review to determine substantial compliance with the Sacramento County Countywide Design Guidelines (Design Guidelines).

Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of demolition and replacement of an existing worship center with a mosque. The new mosque will be located on the same site as the worship center it replaces and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the existing worship center it replaces. Therefore the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
