Document Description
The proposed project is a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) 10-Gigabit-capable Symmetrical Passive Optical Network (XGS-PON) network that would reach all serviceable locations in Gustine, CA (Merced County). The project would construct 175,179FT of underground fiber optic cable and conduit. All project infrastructure will be built under/along city streets and existing right-of-way used by other utilities. There will be no placement of project infrastructure in new right-of-way or previously undisturbed ground.

Reasons for Exemption
Under Resolution T-17867, the CPUC determined the project would qualify for a CEQA Categorical Exemption. The project would be constructed underground along existing right-of-way (city streets) used by other utilities (water, sewer, gas, power, ILEC Telephone and CATV). There will be no placement of project infrastructure in new right-of-way or previously undisturbed ground. Following construction, construction sites will be restored to their original condition.
