Document Description
The project includes the installation of carport and rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at several existing locations across the Cal Poly Humboldt campus, as well as an on-campus battery energy storage system (BESS), and removal of an existing hydrogen fueling station. Consistent with CAP 2.0 Strategy 1.4, carport PV panels would be installed within four existing parking lots (FS9, FS10, G11, and G12) with rooftop PV panels installed on five existing Cal Poly Humboldt academic buildings (Harry Griffith Hall, Sunset Hall, Redwood Hall, Siemens Hall, and the Library Building). Additionally, the existing pilot hydrogen fueling station located within the southern portion of Parking Lot G12 would be removed and replaced with a BESS facility that would allow for uninterrupted electrical service for the campus as generated by the on-campus PV panels, consistent with CAP 2.0 Strategy 2.1. The project would provide 2 megawatts (MW) of direct current (DC) and 1.8 MW of alternating current (AC).
