Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-30968-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Keith Ross.
The project is limited to construction of a new agricultural bridge crossing to replace an existing rock ford crossing for agricultural equipment and vehicle access. The new bridge will be constructed using a prefabricated railcar girder that is approximately 77 feet long and 12 feet wide. Abutments will be located outside the top of bank and consist of three 12-inch diameter cast in drilled hole (CIDH) piles per abutment and an associated headwall. The bottom of the bridge is designed to clear the 100-year flood elevation. The bridge will be constructed in an existing disturbed area consisting of a rock ford crossing, existing road, and vineyards. Permanent impacts from the new bridge structure including abutment installation and bridge shading will be substantially similar to existing impacts from the rock ford crossing, and the new bridge is an overall improvement for fish and wildlife passage. The project will temporarily disturb approximately 4,350 square feet of an existing disturbed area, with the only vegetation present being invasive ruderal grasses. An additional approximately 782 square feet of vineyard will be impacted. No trees will be removed or trimmed as part of this project. Impacts will occur only within existing disturbed areas and active vineyard. Temporarily disturbed areas will be seeded with a native seed mix and covered with straw to prevent erosion. Work will occur in the summer when the creek is dry.
