Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-50247-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Knights Bridge Vineyard.
The project is limited to the removal of an existing 31-foot-long and 12-foot-wide bridge over Bidwell Creek and replacement with a new 40-foot-long and 22-foot-wide bridge. The new bridge will be constructed using steel I-beams and steel plank decking. The new bridge will be a clear span bridge. The foundation of the new bridge will be constructed using five 12-inch diameter steel piles per abutment with steel pile caps and steel sheet pile backwalls. The abutments will be located outside of the top of the creek banks, within existing vineyard access roads and developed areas. No rock riprap will be added as part of this project. The new bridge soffit will provide one foot of clearance above the 100-year flood elevation. The existing bridge abutments will be removed. Access and staging will occur on existing vineyard roads and developed areas. No trees will be removed as part of this project. The project will result in approximately 508 square feet of permanent impact to riparian habitat from additional shading caused by the new bridge deck, and 500 square feet of temporary impact to ruderal vegetation within the riparian habitat.
