Document Description
DWR's Surface Water Monitoring Stations (SWMS) project proposes to temporarily install three (3) surface water elevation monitoring stations within the Yolo Bypass at multiple locations within Tule Canal and the Elkhorn Basin. These stations will help to monitor in-stream water elevations during operations of DWR facilities within the Yolo Bypass.

Class 6 consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. These may be strictly for information gathering purposes, or as part of a study leading to an action which a public agency has not yet approved, adopted, or funded. DWR's SWMS project will be used for informational gathering purposes to help inform operations and adaptive management decisions for existing and upcoming DWR projects and facilities within the Yolo Bypass. Stations will be temporarily fixed to existing facilities and no trenching is proposed. This project is not anticipated to result in impacts to sensitive species or resources.
