Document Description
A slip-out occurred on 4-22-24 along State Route 96, opposite a chronic slide area known as "Old Faithful". This slip-out caused by excessive moisture has left little to no shoulder, and if not addressed will most likely cause a catastrophic failure of the roadway prism during the next rainy season. Geotech reviewed the damaged area and recommends placing RSP over fabric to repair the damaged slope and install an underdrain on the cut side of the highway to alleviate water pressure. This project proposes to repair the damaged shoulder as well as install an underdrain to reduce slope saturation.
