Document Description
The City of McFarland is looking to provide improvements at Munoz Park. There are currently no walking paths within the park itself, so a focus of the project would be to provide walking paths and lighting for those paths. Another feature that the project scope includes is the introduction of a playground. As the area in the middle of the park is currently empty, adding a playground would attract more park use.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15301, Class 1 e(2b) and Section 15332 Class 32(b,c,d,e)
Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt pursuant to Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines. Section 15301, Class 1.e(2)(B). Section 15301 is appropriate as the project is facilitating upgrades to an existing public park that currently contains outdoor exercise facilities, sidewalk, and grassy area. It is also exempt pursuant to Section 15332 of the State CEQA Guidelines, Section 15332, Class 32(b,c,d,e). This section is appropriate as the proposed project occurs within City limits on a project site no more than five acres substantially surrounded by urban uses, has no value as habitat for endangered, rare, or threatened species, would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality, and the site can be adequately served by all required utilities and public services.
