Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-VEN-41964-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to United Water Conservation District, represented by Marissa Caringella. The Project is limited to maintenance activities at the Vern-Freeman Diversion, located on the Santa Clara River. The activities proposed include regularly scheduled maintenance and intermittent maintenance that may be required on as-needed basis. Activities include vegetation control at the roller compacted concrete diversion dam and along rip-rap and access roads; in-kind repair of rip-rap and roads; and partial draining of the desilting basin. Activities will be conducted in areas where the channel is dry. Certain activities which would require heavy machinery will be performed outside of the nesting bird season, the steelhead migration/rearing season, and/or any storm event that could trigger steelhead migration. The Agreement does not cover any water diversions or dewatering
