Document Description
In Inyo County, on US 6, from Wye Road to Bishop Creek Bridge, 48-23. The work will consist of removal of existing pavement stripe and markings and replacing them with methyl methacrylate (MMA), micro-surfacing from EP to EP, removal of existing k-rail and replacing it with type 5 standard wire fence, and replacing the existing signs. All work will occur within the existing paved surface except for the installation of signs.
The new roadway cross section will consist of one - 12' lane on the east side of the facility, one - 12' lane on the west side of the facility, a 12' wide two-way left turn lane (TWLTL), and 6' - 8' buffered bike lanes on the east and west sides of the facility. The bike lane will be a 4' - 6’ Class 2 Bike Lane with 2’ buffer.
A contractor staging area is proposed at the existing dirt pullout at PM 0.49 on the north and south side of the highway.
