Document Description
Project consists of installing a new drain field at Residence 1 at Portola Redwoods State Park to allow for continued use of the residence. Work will:
• Excavate to expose the discharge pipe from the septic tank and abandon existing drain field;
• Reroute the discharge pipe around the septic tank to the access road;
• Excavate two (2), approximately 50-ft long by 2-ft wide by 6-ft deep trenches;
• Install 5-feet of drain rock in each trench;
• Place a 4-inch perforated pipe on top of the drain rock and cover with 4-inches of drain rock, topped with a filter fabric;
• Back fill the trenches with excavated soils and compact;
• Install a distribution box and extend the inspection port from box to grade; and
• Install two (2) additional inspection ports, to grade, at the end of the drain fields.
