Document Description
The existing Aqueduct road from about MP 118.50L to MP 123.00L has washboarding and potholes. To perform the repairs, DWR’s San Luis Field Division will use a motor grader to cut out the washboarding, to grade the road surface, and to fill in the potholes. Existing material from the road’s shoulder will be used to help fill in the potholes; a water truck will also be used to wet the materials, and it will use its tires to compact them. After the road is graded and the potholes are filled, the water truck will perform a final spray of water onto the road to ensure the proper bonding and packing of material. Repairs are necessary to allow vehicles to safely use the road for inspections and maintenance activities; the State Water Project will benefit.
Work will occur in the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) right of way in Reach 5 of the California Aqueduct (Aqueduct) from about Aqueduct milepost (MP) 118.50 to MP 123.00. Work will happen on the left side (L) of the Aqueduct. The northernmost boundary of the work site is about 1.03 miles southeast of the intersection of Manning Avenue and the Aqueduct; the southernmost boundary of the work site is about 1.00 miles southeast of the intersection of South San Diego Avenue and the Aqueduct.
