Document Description
The project is a Major Use Permit Modification (MUP Modification) to modify and continue operating an existing wireless telecommunication facility. The project proposes to remove and relocate antennas from an existing faux chimney facility to an existing 30-foot-tall faux water tank facility. The project proposes to modify the faux water tank by installing a 15-foot extension, thereby increasing the total height of the facility to 45 feet. The wireless telecommunication facility is defined as a high visibility facility and will have a term limit of 15 years pursuant to Section 6985(C)(11) of the Zoning Ordinance. The facility was originally approved on September 24, 2010, and is set to expire on September 24, 2025. This project includes the request to extend the facility expiration date to October 18, 2039.

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15301
Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines, the Project is exempt from CEQA because it consists of a minor alteration of an existing facility. The project proposes an addition to an existing faux water tank wireless telecommunication facility that will not result in an increase of more than 50 percent of the original floor area, or 2,500 square feet. It has been determined that the Project site is not in an environmentally sensitive location, will not have a cumulative effect on the environment, is not on a hazardous waste site, will not cause substantial change in the significance of a historical resource, and will not result in damage to a scenic highway.
