Document Description
Caltrans proposes a DDO/Emergency project to repair broken irrigation lines, repair damaged equipment, and install theft deterrents at various locations along various routes within San Diego County. Field maintenance crews have reported that approximately 60 locations throughout San Diego County have been vandalized resulting in wasted water, inoperable irrigation equipment, and dead plants. Field maintenance crews responded in a timely manner; however, work beyond the capacity of field maintenance remains such as bulk ordering and installation of both materials and theft deterrents. All work will occur within Caltrans Right of Way. There will be minimal ground disturbance (shovel work) to repair damaged wire and controller cabinets. Environmental Commitments are contained in the ECR.
